Open a phone listing on Flipkart from outside India and the page first asks for a delivery PIN code; once a code is in, the delivery date, the stock badge and sometimes the seller offer change. Google.co.in reorders local results by city and mixes in pages in Hindi and other Indian languages. To see what an Indian buyer sees, the request has to leave from an Indian IP address, and for city-sensitive pages from the right city.
We compare seven providers selling Indian IPs in 2026: Proxynet, five global networks and Floppydata. We looked at the India figure each one publishes and what it counts, city and network targeting, mobile lines, and the price per GB with its terms. Rival figures come from the providers' own sites, October 2026; information a provider does not publish sits in the tables as "—".
What is an India location proxy?
An India location proxy sends your request out from an IP address registered in India, so the target site shows you the local price, stock, search result and ads. There are four types: residential, through home broadband such as Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel or ACT Fibernet; mobile, through a cellular line; static ISP, registered to an access provider but hosted in a data center; and datacenter, from a hosting network. A site blocks a hosting block far more readily than a carrier's mobile range, which real subscribers share. More in Residential vs Mobile Proxies.
What is an India proxy used for?
- E-commerce price and stock tracking: Flipkart, Amazon.in, Myntra, Meesho and JioMart change delivery dates, stock badges and offers by location. More: price monitoring.
- Local SEO: Google.co.in results differ between Mumbai and Chennai, and between English and Hindi queries. More: SEO proxy and SERP rank tracking.
- Ad verification: which publisher shows your Indian campaign, with which creative and redirect chain. More: ad verification.
- Competitor research: catalogue size, discount depth and seller counts on Indian marketplaces. More: competitor price tracking.
- App and QA testing: how an app or a checkout behaves on an Indian mobile network. More: app testing.
What to look for in an India proxy provider
- What the India figure counts. Residential only, residential plus mobile, or the whole network; a global pool of 400 million says nothing about India on its own.
- Free city targeting. Prices, delivery and search results in India are local; Delhi and Chennai are different markets.
- Mobile lines. Most Indians go online over mobile data (see below), so app tests need exits on the big carriers.
- Price model and term. A mandatory monthly plan, credit that expires after 60 days, a headline price that only applies on a plan costing thousands of dollars a month.
- Protocol and session. HTTP and SOCKS5 on every product, and sticky sessions for flows such as search, product page and cart.
The 7 best India proxy providers
1. Proxynet
Proxynet is the first address for an India proxy. The pool holds 722,028 Indian IPs across four products, broken down into 60 cities in 28 states — Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune first — and spread over more than 300 Indian ASNs. Fixed-line exits come from the Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, BSNL and ACT Fibernet networks, and the mobile pool from Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL lines. City and ASN targeting is free on residential; on mobile you target the country and the city. HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 work on every product, SOCKS5 carries UDP as well as TCP, and you authenticate with a username and password or an IP whitelist of up to 10 addresses. Residential and mobile sessions rotate on every request or keep one IP for 1-60 minutes.
Pricing runs on an account balance, not a plan. Residential starts at the 3.30 dollars level per GB and mobile at 5.50 dollars, falling as the balance grows; a dedicated ISP IP starts at 1.80 dollars and a datacenter IP at 1.50 dollars per month, both with unmetered traffic. The balance never expires, works on all four products, and proxies are delivered at once; you pay by credit card or bank transfer. Per-IP products cover fewer countries than residential, so check Indian stock in the panel before ordering one.
Pros
- 60 cities in 28 states, free city and ASN targeting on residential
- Mobile exits on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL lines
- Residential entry price below every rival here except Floppydata
- No subscription, no term, a balance that never expires
- One balance for all four products
- SOCKS5 with TCP and UDP on every product
Cons
- Decodo, SOAX, IPRoyal and Bright Data publish bigger India figures
- No carrier selection on mobile, only country and city
- The Web Scraper API is available through the sales team for now
- No free trial; you test with a small balance
Who it is for: price, SEO, ad and app work that needs a specific Indian city or network, without a monthly plan.
2. Decodo
Formerly Smartproxy. Its location pages put India at more than 9.4 million residential IPs, the largest India figure here, and its India page names Jio, Airtel and Vi as its mobile carriers. Residential costs 4 dollars per GB pay as you go or 3.75 dollars on the smallest monthly plan, down to 2 dollars on a 1 TB plan; mobile lists at 7.50 dollars, currently halved by a campaign. A 3-day, 100 MB trial is free.
Pros
- The largest India figure on the list
- Names Jio, Airtel and Vi
- State, city and ASN targeting
Cons
- Monthly subscriptions; pay as you go buys one GB at a time
- Mobile list price of 7.50 dollars per GB
- The India figure is not on its India page
Who it is for: teams that want the largest published India residential pool and work on a monthly plan.
3. SOAX
SOAX publishes 5,132,520 Indian residential and mobile IPs and targets India by region, city and carrier, Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and BSNL among them. India sits in price tier 2: 4 dollars per GB on the free Sandbox plan, down to 0.55 dollars on a 3,000-dollar monthly plan, one rate for residential and mobile. Credits on Sandbox and monthly plans expire after 60 days.
Pros
- 5,132,520 Indian residential and mobile IPs
- Carrier targeting in India
- The lowest high-volume price on the list (0.55 dollars per GB)
Cons
- Credits expire after 60 days on Sandbox and monthly plans
- Low prices need plans of 200 to 3,000 dollars a month
- Datacenter proxies only in the US
Who it is for: high-volume teams that spend a monthly plan in full and need carrier targeting.
4. Bright Data
The largest global network here, with more than 400 million residential IPs; its India page states 1,175,383 Indian IPs and targeting by city, ZIP code, carrier and ASN. Residential costs 8 dollars per GB pay as you go, and monthly plans run from 499 dollars (7 dollars per GB) to 1,999 dollars (5 dollars), currently halved by a coupon for three months. It publishes no mobile prices.
Pros
- The largest global residential pool on the list
- Carrier, ASN and ZIP code targeting
Cons
- Residential entry price of 8 dollars per GB
- Monthly plans from 499 dollars
- No published mobile price
Who it is for: enterprise teams covering many countries that put network size ahead of price.
5. IPRoyal
Its India page states 1,765,970 Indian IPs in the header and 3,765,970 in the location list below; either way the figure covers the whole network. It lists more than 400 Indian cities for state and city targeting. Residential traffic never expires; the price is 7 dollars per GB, down to 1.75 dollars with volume.
Pros
- Residential traffic never expires
- More than 400 Indian cities listed
Cons
- Residential entry price of 7 dollars per GB

Its India page offers residential, 4G/5G mobile and datacenter proxies over HTTP and SOCKS5, but no India IP count and no Indian carrier names.
Pros
- 1 dollar per GB, flat
- The same GB for residential, mobile and datacenter
Cons
- No India IP figure and no Indian carriers named
- No free trial
- The pool figure differs between its own pages (65 million+ and 1 million+)
Who it is for: teams that want a flat GB price and one balance for rotating traffic.
7. Webshare
Webshare shows 589,451 Indian IPs across its rotating residential, datacenter and ISP products. Residential starts at 7 dollars a month for 1 GB and falls to 1.40 dollars per GB on large monthly plans, with targeting down to ZIP code and ASN; a free tier gives 10 datacenter proxies.
Pros
- A free datacenter tier
- Targeting down to ZIP code and ASN
Cons
- The smallest published India figure on the list
- Monthly plans, traffic valid for one month
- No mobile proxies
Who it is for: small datacenter tests and residential work on a monthly plan.
Oxylabs is not on the list: its pages could not be reached while we prepared this post, so none of its India figures could be checked.
Comparison tables
The figures come from the providers' own sites, October 2026. "—" is information the provider does not publish. Providers count different things, so the first table says what each India figure covers.
India IPs
| Provider | India IPs | What it counts |
|---|---|---|
| Proxynet | 722,028 | All four products |
| Decodo | 9.4M+ | Residential |
| SOAX | 5,132,520 | Residential + mobile |
| IPRoyal | 1,765,970 | Whole network |
| Bright Data | 1,175,383 | Country total |
| Webshare | 589,451 | Three products |
| Floppydata | — | — |
For a price check in Chennai or an app test on Jio, the next table matters more than raw size: where the exit lands and on which network.
Targeting inside India
| Provider | Carriers named | City targeting | Network choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proxynet | Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL | 60 cities, free | ASN (residential) |
| Decodo | Jio, Airtel, Vi | State + city | ASN |
| SOAX | Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL | Region + city | Carrier |
| Bright Data | — | City + ZIP | Carrier + ASN |
| Webshare | — | State, city, ZIP | ASN |
| IPRoyal | — | 400+ cities | — |
| Floppydata | — | City | ASN |
Only Proxynet, Decodo and SOAX name Indian carriers. SOAX and Bright Data also let you select the carrier; at Proxynet the mobile pool runs on the four carriers' lines and you target it by country and city.
Price and terms
| Provider | Residential entry (GB) | Subscription | Traffic term |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proxynet | 3.30 dollars | No | Never expires |
| Floppydata | 1 dollar | No | 30 days or no term |
| Decodo | 3.75 dollars | Monthly or pay as you go | — |
| SOAX | 4 dollars | Optional plans | 60-day credits |
| IPRoyal | 7 dollars | No | Never expires |
| Webshare | 7 dollars | Monthly | 1 month |
| Bright Data | 8 dollars | Monthly or pay as you go | 1 month on plans |
These are list entry prices, not campaign prices. At Proxynet the residential rate falls to 1.50 dollars per GB as the balance grows, and mobile starts at 5.50 dollars per GB. The term column shows the real difference: SOAX credits on monthly plans expire after 60 days, Webshare and Bright Data plans run month by month, and a Proxynet balance waits until you use it.
Why Proxynet for an India proxy?
City and ASN targeting across 60 cities
The pool is published city by city, with separate pages for Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. On residential the city and the ASN cost nothing extra, so a price check in Delhi and a SERP check in Chennai run from the same balance.
Mobile lines on the four big carriers
The mobile pool runs on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL, the four networks at the top of India's broadband ranking. A sticky session keeps the same mobile IP for 1-60 minutes, long enough for an app flow from login to checkout.
No plan, no term, one balance
One balance buys Residential Proxy, Mobile Proxy, static ISP or datacenter, and nothing is deleted at the end of the month. If you check Indian prices only around the big sale seasons, you pay nothing in between. The tiers are on the residential pricing and mobile pricing pages.
SOCKS5 with UDP on every product
SOCKS5 carries UDP as well as TCP on all four products, so DNS queries and other UDP traffic use the same proxy. On residential and mobile, HTTP and SOCKS5 share one gateway on separate ports, and the endpoint builder shows both. More: SOCKS5 Proxy 101 and SOCKS5 Proxy.
India is a mobile-first market
At the end of August 2026 India had 1,101.21 million broadband subscriptions: 1,033.24 million mobile and 48.63 million fixed wired, according to TRAI's press release 125/2026, which ranks Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL and ACT as the five largest broadband providers.
For a proxy buyer this means two things. First, the typical Indian visitor is on a mobile network, and apps, mobile pages and some offers are built for that visitor; a test from a desktop broadband IP does not show them.
Second, mobile networks share addresses. Carriers put many subscribers behind one public IPv4 address with carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT), using the shared range set aside in RFC 6598 inside their network. A site that blocks such an address blocks real customers with it, so it is slower to block a mobile address than a hosting one. More in What Is CGNAT? and What Are Mobile Proxies?.
City targeting, PIN codes and network records
On Flipkart and Amazon.in the IP sets the region a visitor starts from, and the six-digit PIN code entered on the page decides the delivery date and, for some listings, availability. Take a city exit that matches the PIN code, set the code in the same session and keep that session sticky until you have read the product and cart pages; an IP that jumps from Mumbai to Kolkata between two pages produces a page no real buyer sees.
The second layer is the network. A target site reads which autonomous system an IP belongs to and tells a broadband or mobile subscriber from a data center customer by that record. In India you will meet AS55836 Reliance Jio, AS9498 Bharti Airtel, AS9829 for BSNL, AS38266 Vodafone Idea and AS24309 ACT Fibernet most often. Location databases lag, too: a block moved to another city can show its old city for weeks, so check what you receive (How to Test a Proxy, Why Is My IP Location Wrong?).
Which proxy type for India?
| Type | Use in India | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | Price, stock, SERP by city | Per GB |
| Mobile | App tests, mobile-only pages | Per GB |
| Static ISP | One account, one IP for weeks | Per IP/month |
| Datacenter | High-volume public pages | Per IP/month |
Start with Residential Proxy for prices and search results across cities, and use Mobile Proxy for pages that change on a cellular network. For a seller panel you log in to for weeks, ISP Proxy or a Sticky Proxy session keeps the address; Datacenter Proxy brings the cost down on high-volume public pages with unmetered traffic.
Common mistakes
- Reading the global pool as the India pool. Hundreds of millions of IPs worldwide can mean a few hundred thousand in India.
- Putting different counts in one column. A residential-only figure and a whole-network figure are not the same measure.
- Comparing an entry price with an enterprise floor. The lowest headline price often needs a plan of thousands of dollars a month.
- Letting credit expire. Where credits expire after 60 days, a quiet month costs money.
- Rotating inside a multi-step flow. Search, product page and cart should come from one IP and one city.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best proxy provider for India?
Proxynet. 60 cities in 28 states, free city and ASN targeting, mobile exits on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL, a residential entry price below every rival here except Floppydata and a balance that never expires come together at Proxynet. If only pool size matters, Decodo and SOAX publish the biggest India figures.
How do I get an Indian IP address?
Load a balance in the Proxynet panel, choose the product and India, and pick the city in the endpoint builder; the proxy is delivered at once. You connect with a username and password or by whitelisting your own IP, with no subscription or contract.
How much does an India proxy cost?
At Proxynet residential starts at 3.30 dollars per GB and mobile at 5.50 dollars, both falling as the balance grows. Among the other providers here residential starts between 3.75 and 8 dollars per GB, with Floppydata at a flat 1 dollar.
Residential or mobile proxies for India?
Residential for most price, stock and search work: it costs less per GB, and city targeting covers the local differences. Mobile when a page or an app behaves differently on a cellular network, which in India's mobile-first market is common.
Can I target a specific Indian city?
Yes. You choose one of 60 cities when you build the endpoint, on residential and mobile alike, and on residential you can add the ASN. City pages such as Mumbai list the networks behind each city.
Is using an India proxy legal?
Using a proxy is legal in itself; what you do through it sets the limits. The target site's terms, personal data in what you collect and Indian law are your responsibility, and an official API comes first where one exists. More in Is Web Scraping Legal?.
Summary
An India proxy is decided by how many IPs a provider really has in India, in which cities and on which networks, and on what terms the price comes. Proxynet brings 60 cities in 28 states, Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL lines, free city and ASN targeting and a balance that never expires together. The pool is detailed on the India proxy page, and all products are on our proxy services page.
