Why Use a Proxy?

See your ad exactly as your audience sees it.
Real location, real device, real IP.

Verify How the Ad Really Looks From the Target Country and City

Depending on your geo-targeting rules, ad networks serve a different creative, price or offer to users in different countries and even different cities. From your own office IP you never see that difference at all; with a real IP from the target location you check whether the ad is actually running the way it is supposed to look.

Confirm the Ad Ran in the Right Placement

Check for yourself, rather than trusting reports alone, that an ad appeared on the agreed publisher, in the right page category and on the right device type. Repeated audits from different locations and device profiles catch placement breaches early.

Detect Click Fraud Patterns

Abnormally dense clicks from the same IP or the same datacenter block burn campaign budget on traffic that was never real. Monitor how your ad renders across a residential and mobile IP pool to tell genuine engagement apart from suspicious click behavior on the publisher side.

Audit Affiliate and Publisher Compliance

Connect like a real user from the region in question to verify that affiliate partners and publishers are honoring the geography, device and traffic-source rules set out in their contract. Redirects that break the rules, along with blacklisted or grey-listed traffic, come to light this way.

Test In-App Mobile Ads From a Real Carrier Line

In-app mobile ads usually behave differently from desktop, and some networks serve dedicated creatives only to genuine mobile carrier IPs. With a 4G/5G mobile proxy you audit in-app inventory as though you were on a real user device.

Keep Your Identity and Brand Name Out of Sight

If an ad network or a competitor spots that your audit traffic comes from your corporate IP range, it can serve you a tailored, sanitized ad experience. Because that traffic exits through a wide residential and mobile pool, you look like an ordinary consumer instead.

Build a Repeatable, Consistent Audit Over Time

Instead of a one-off check, an audit repeated at regular intervals from the same city and device profile shows, with timestamps, exactly when a creative changed or when a placement breach began.

Compare Campaign Performance by Region

Compare impression and click data gathered across different countries and cities to reveal where the ad is working as expected and where the numbers look anomalous.

Ad Verification & Proxy Infrastructure

What is Ad Verification?

Ad verification is the process of independently checking whether an ad is genuinely being served as planned in the targeted country, city, device and publisher. The aim is not to take the ad network's own report at face value, but to observe directly what a real user sees.

Why You Need a Proxy: Ad networks and publishers can recognize corporate IP ranges, datacenter IPs and known audit tools, then serve those sources a different (usually sanitized) version. Without a genuine residential or mobile IP from the target location, the ad you see can differ from the one an ordinary consumer sees, and click fraud and affiliate breaches slip past unnoticed.

Which Proxy, and When: For a one-off sweep across a large number of locations, Rotating Proxy is ideal; when you need to follow a campaign session or a user journey end to end under a single identity, Sticky Proxy holds the IP steady for a while. The table below lays out which source IP type fits which audit:

Proxy TypeWhen To Use ItWhy
Residential proxyDesktop and web ad auditsA genuine home-user IP the ad network can't tell apart from an ordinary consumer
Mobile proxyIn-app mobile ad auditsSome networks show in-app creatives only to real mobile carrier IPs
ISP proxyA fixed, repeatable audit vantage pointA stable, corporate-looking IP that keeps the same identity across sessions

The Proxynet pool unifies more than 160 million residential and mobile IPs across 194 countries in a single dashboard. Route your audit traffic over HTTPS Proxy or SOCKS5 Proxy and reuse the same infrastructure for your brand and content monitoring work.

What problem does ad verification actually solve?

The most basic scenario: you told the ad network to show your ad in Istanbul, but is it actually appearing there, or did the publisher shift the budget to a different city? Agencies verify this by browsing from a real IP in the target city and seeing the ad themselves, rather than trusting their own report — that's how the gap between the report and reality shows up.

"Cloaking" is another common trick: a site shows a clean page to verification bots and search engines while serving something completely different — sometimes policy-violating — to the actual user who clicked the ad. The only way to catch this is browsing from a residential IP that looks like an ordinary consumer; the site already behaves differently toward corporate or known datacenter IPs.

The same logic applies to competitor analysis: to see which cities and hours a competitor is advertising in, you scan from different locations, which gives you a concrete read on where they're concentrating budget and which markets they're prioritizing — similar to market research.

Setup Steps & Boundaries

How Is Ad Verification Done?

The four stages of setting up an ad audit workflow from scratch:

  1. Defining the Audit Matrix: Lay out in a table which campaign gets audited, in which country/city combination and on which device type (desktop, mobile web, in-app). Pin down the publisher, the ad network and the expected creative at this stage too.
  2. Choosing the Proxy Type and Geo-Targeting: Use residential IPs for web and desktop ads and a mobile carrier line for in-app ads; in both cases target by country, city and, where possible, ASN.
  3. Integrating the Audit Tool: Point your headless browser (Playwright, Puppeteer) or the third-party ad verification platform you use at a single backconnect host:port. Parameterize your script so that every sweep run executes under a different country/city identity.
  4. Screenshots, Logging and Reporting: For every audit, record a screenshot of the creative that was served, the placement URL and the timestamp. Flag the results that deviate from what you expected (wrong creative, wrong location, suspicious click density) and build a report you can share with the publisher or the ad network.

What It Is Not

  • It is not a system that automatically blocks ad fraud; it is the layer that audits and gathers the evidence.
  • It is not a tool for clicking on real user ads or manufacturing engagement that burns someone's budget.
  • It does not override an ad network's or publisher's terms of use; audit scope should stay limited to publicly visible placements.

A Proxy Alone Isn't Enough

  • Screenshot capture, creative comparison and reporting logic all require a separate audit tool or script.
  • Statistical thresholds and anomaly detection for click fraud analysis have to be built separately; the proxy only supplies a realistic exit point.
  • Auditing in-app ads also calls for a real mobile device or an emulator setup; the proxy solves only the network layer.
Use Cases

Ad Verification Industry Use Cases

From programmatic display audits and affiliate compliance to in-app mobile ads and search ad verification — the fields ad verification powers.

Connect over a genuine 4G/5G carrier line to check that in-app ad inventory, and the mobile-only creatives that behave differently from desktop, are being served correctly.

Verify that affiliate partners are honoring the geography, device and traffic-source rules in their contract by connecting like a real user from that region.

Independently check that in-feed and story ads show the right creative and the right offer for each audience, country and device type.

Test from a genuine search IP that your search ads appear in the expected position, with the right extensions and the right offer, in the target country and city.

Support and proxy quality

When you take the quality of the proxies they sell together with pre-sales and after-sales support, I can say they are among the best on the market. I want to work with them for a long time — thank you.

One of the best customer support teams you will see

I was using a proxy from another company and could not get support. I was already registered on proxynet.io before buying; when a customer-service email arrived on Saturday I decided to try. So far I can say their fast replies and problem-solving approach really impressed me.

Technical support is fast, ISP proxies work

Technical support is fast. I was very happy with the ISP proxies; you could make prices a bit more affordable, mobile is unfortunately expensive, but ISP speeds and subnet quality are solid.
