Practical ways to keep LinkedIn accounts safe
LinkedIn is genuinely strict about account security. Viewing too many profiles or sending too many connection requests in a short time is especially risky on a newer account — so when working with a new account or a new IP, starting slow and picking up the pace over time is safer.
Pairing your account with the same IP and sticking with it works much better than switching IPs often — LinkedIn treats sudden IP changes as suspicious and may ask for extra verification.
If you manage multiple accounts (recruiting, sales, etc.), giving each one its own IP is a must; otherwise a restriction on one account can spread to the others. If you're doing bulk searches with Sales Navigator, sending requests slowly and at regular intervals also stays closer to human behavior.

Both give you a dedicated (unshared) exit IP; the difference is where that IP comes from. A dedicated ISP proxy gives you a static IP that runs at datacenter speed but is registered to a real ISP, while a residential proxy comes from an actual home user's line and usually starts out with a higher trust score on LinkedIn. For a single account and long-term use, ISP is generally enough and more economical; for scenarios involving many accounts or aggressive automation, residential is the safer choice.
LinkedIn reads an exit IP that changes in the middle of a session as a possible sign of account takeover and may show a verification (checkpoint) screen. A sticky session holds an account's IP steady for hours or days, mirroring how a real user signs in from the same computer and connection.
