Why Use a Proxy?

Why does brand protection need a proxy?
Without geo-targeting, a large IP pool and continuous scanning, monitoring cannot keep up.

Catch Counterfeit Listings Without Interruption

Accounts selling counterfeits usually pull a listing the moment it is caught and open a new one. A regular check from a single IP gets blocked fast; a scan spread across a large IP pool keeps running and picks up the freshly posted fakes too.

Monitor Unauthorized Sellers and the Grey Market

Finding accounts selling your product outside your authorized reseller network means seeing the pages the marketplace serves to that specific shopper. Searching from IPs in different countries and cities shows you exactly the listing an unauthorized seller puts in front of a real buyer.

Spot Violations on Regional Marketplaces

A brand violation can surface not only in your own market but in countries where you have never sold at all. Geo-targeting lets you scan that country's local marketplace and search results the way a shopper on the ground sees them.

Reduce CAPTCHAs and Bot Detection

Large marketplaces and social platforms recognize repeated automated scans by their datacenter IP signature and answer with a CAPTCHA. IPs from real home connections or mobile carrier lines make your scanning look like ordinary user traffic.

Monitor Your Brand 24/7

Violations tend to appear after hours or over the weekend. A rotating IP pool lets you run continuous, automated scans with no risk of an IP ban, so monitoring carries on while you sleep.

Expose Copycat Social Media Accounts

Profiles impersonating your brand can serve one version of their content to an IP in your own country and something entirely different to the region where your audience actually is. Without looking through a local IP, you never see the copycat account's true reach.

Scan Thousands of Listings in Parallel

Checking hundreds of keywords and product variations one by one across different marketplaces simply does not scale. With unlimited concurrent threads and a large IP pool, you scan thousands of listings at once and flag anomalies automatically.

Gather Evidence Without Revealing Who You Are

Collecting evidence from your own corporate IP can tip the seller off that the brand itself is watching, prompting them to hide the listing or delete the proof. Access through a proxy pool makes your scanning indistinguishable from an ordinary visitor.

Brand Protection & Proxy Infrastructure

What Is a Brand Protection Proxy?

Brand Protection Proxy is a proxy used to find counterfeit listings, unauthorized sellers and impersonation accounts that use a brand's name, logo or product imagery without permission on e-commerce sites and social media, so you can take legal and operational action against them. It works by scanning thousands of pages across the target platforms on a regular schedule and automatically flagging anomalies such as inconsistent prices, images or seller details.

Why Do You Need a Proxy? Marketplaces and social platforms are quick to recognize regular, automated traffic from a single IP and either block it or show a CAPTCHA. On top of that, many violations only surface in a particular country or city; a check run from your own location may not reveal them at all. Without a proxy, your scanning script stops after a handful of requests or misses a large share of the infringement.

Which Proxy, and When? The right setup depends on where the violation shows up:

Recommended platform and proxy type by violation type
Violation TypeWhere It Shows UpRecommended Proxy

The Proxynet pool brings together more than 160 million residential and mobile IPs across 194 countries in a single panel. You can route your traffic over the HTTPS or SOCKS5 proxy protocol and put the same infrastructure to work in every brand protection project that calls for e-commerce and social media scanning.

What do brand protection teams actually scan for, day to day?

The most common case is counterfeit goods: a fake product carrying your logo shows up on a local marketplace (say, a Southeast Asian one), but that listing only appears on that country's site. Search from your own country and you'll never see it — the only way to find it is to search from an IP in the marketplace's own country.

Unauthorized reseller detection works the same way — a seller with no agreement with you can list your product in their region at a different price, sometimes with fake warranty claims. Catching this means regularly scanning multiple countries and marketplaces, exiting from a different IP each time — otherwise the site blocks you quickly and the scan stalls halfway through.

The same problem shows up in advertising: a misleading ad using your brand name might run in one country and never appear in another. Scanning regularly from different cities and countries catches both counterfeit listings and brand-abusing ads early — Rotating Proxy running each scan from a different IP is the standard way to do it.

Setup Steps & Boundaries

How Do You Set Up a Brand Protection Scan?

The four stages of building a counterfeit and impersonation monitoring workflow:

  1. Defining the Scope and Target Platforms: List the marketplaces, social platforms and ad networks to monitor, plus the countries where your brand actually sells or is counterfeited. Set the exact identifiers to search for — logo, product name, SKU, seller name — so the scan does not drift into unrelated results.
  2. Choosing the Proxy Type and Targeting: Use a rotating proxy for broad, one-off listing sweeps and a sticky proxy to study one seller account or profile without losing your identity mid-session. Reach for residential or mobile IPs on tightly protected platforms, and datacenter IPs for high-volume, less-guarded checks; set country and city targeting to the location where the violation is visible.
  3. Connecting the Scanning Tool: Point your own scraper, browser automation or a ready-made brand monitoring tool at a single backconnect host:port address. Set the request rate and schedule to stay within what each platform tolerates, so a burst of traffic does not trigger a block before the sweep finishes.
  4. Recording Evidence and Escalating: Store a timestamped screenshot or page snapshot of every confirmed violation, together with the source IP and country it was seen from. Route the confirmed cases to the platform's own report form, a takedown request, or your legal team, depending on the severity.

What It Is Not

  • It is not trademark registration or a legal enforcement action on its own; it is the monitoring infrastructure that feeds evidence into that process.
  • It is not an automatic takedown service; removing a listing still requires filing the platform's own report or a DMCA-style request.
  • It is not a tool for account takeover, unauthorized system access, or deliberately harvesting personal data (information covered by KVKK/GDPR).

A Proxy Alone Is Not Enough

  • Deciding whether a listing is genuinely counterfeit or infringing is a separate judgment call; verify borderline cases with your legal team before escalating.
  • Staying within personal-data collection limits (KVKK/GDPR) when a profile page includes individuals' details is your responsibility, not something the proxy handles.
  • Each marketplace and social platform runs its own report or DMCA process with its own timeline; a proxy gets you the evidence, not a faster review from the platform.
Use Cases

Brand Protection Use Cases by Industry

From e-commerce counterfeit scanning to social media impersonation detection, and from fake ads to phishing domain monitoring, these are the areas brand protection powers.

View and document the countries and platforms where fake ads using your brand name or logo are served, all from a real user IP.

Track your brand's position in the market, the price level of counterfeit goods and how quickly they spread, by comparing regional data side by side.

Detect the fake login and payment pages set up on domains that imitate your brand name by viewing them from IPs in different countries.

Support and proxy quality

When you take the quality of the proxies they sell together with pre-sales and after-sales support, I can say they are among the best on the market. I want to work with them for a long time — thank you.

One of the best customer support teams you will see

I was using a proxy from another company and could not get support. I was already registered on proxynet.io before buying; when a customer-service email arrived on Saturday I decided to try. So far I can say their fast replies and problem-solving approach really impressed me.

Technical support is fast, ISP proxies work

Technical support is fast. I was very happy with the ISP proxies; you could make prices a bit more affordable, mobile is unfortunately expensive, but ISP speeds and subnet quality are solid.

Brand protection scanning means checking thousands of pages across marketplaces and social media platforms on a regular schedule. Run from a single IP, that scan is detected and blocked — or stopped by a CAPTCHA — very quickly. A proxy spreads your requests across a large IP pool so you can scan continuously and unnoticed, and it also lets you look at the violation with a real IP from the country where it is visible.
