Steam proxy is Proxynet's Gaming Proxy product: it gives your account a static exit IP from your target country that doesn't change for as long as your purchase lasts, connected over SOCKS5/HTTPS. The IPs come from our ISP and datacenter infrastructure, and you pick the target country yourself, from over 70 locations, at checkout.
Steam's store determines game pricing, regional library, and payment methods based on the country your account connects from. Steam also tracks country changes and connections from datacenter IPs; frequently logging in from different countries or known datacenter ranges can trigger a region lock or extra security verification on your account.
Your Gaming Proxy IPs are static, so your account connects from the same country and IP every time — a consistency that matters for not unnecessarily triggering Steam's region or security checks.
The same game can sell for very different prices across Steam's regional storefronts, and some regional libraries are only available to accounts connecting from that country. Using a static Gaming Proxy IP from the target country lets you see those regional price and library differences. For users running multiple Steam accounts — for the community market, item trading, or testing — assigning a separate IP to each account keeps them from being linked together and reviewed as a group.
Gaming Proxy changes the IP your account connects from, but it doesn't replace the account-level security and ban mechanisms Steam and VAC enforce. It's worth being clear about that:
A VAC ban is tied to your account, not your IP. Changing your IP with a proxy does not make an already VAC-banned account playable again.
Some regional restrictions also look at payment method or account history; a static IP substantially improves regional visibility but doesn't single-handedly clear every restriction.

No. A VAC ban is enforced at the account level, not the IP level. A proxy only changes your connection IP — it doesn't make an already VAC-banned account playable again.
Assign a separate Gaming Proxy IP to each account to keep them isolated from one another. This reduces the risk of accounts being linked together via a shared IP and reviewed as a group.
Usually yes, but some accounts cache their region detection, in which case you may need to restart the client or log out and back in.
The Steam client (steam.exe) has no built-in proxy setting. Use SOCKS5 with a tool like Proxifier to route the client through your proxy; HTTPS only helps if you're browsing the store pages in a browser with a system- or browser-level proxy set.
Install Proxifier (or a similar SOCKS5 client), create a rule with the host:port and username/password from your panel, then route steam.exe through it. Once Steam restarts, the store shows as connecting from your target country.
