Bright Data and Oxylabs are ahead on the total pool; what decides things for the subject of this post is how fine the location you can target is. The only list where you can pick all 81 provinces in Türkiye is Proxynet's. ## Why does a CAPTCHA appear?

The verification screen does not appear at random. Four groups of signals are scored separately, and when the total crosses a threshold the test is shown.

**IP reputation and network type.** The first thing looked at is which autonomous system the address is registered to. Blocks belonging to hosting companies score higher from the start than blocks belonging to access providers, because it is not ordinary for a regular visitor to connect from a data center. The address's history counts too: if high-volume automated traffic passed through the same IP before, or if the address landed on abuse lists, the threshold is already lower for you. If you are using a shared IP, the traffic that set that history may not even be yours.

**Request rate and pattern.** The second signal is the frequency and the order of the requests coming from the same source. Requests that arrive exactly every 500 milliseconds, never pause and always follow the same order do not look like human behaviour. At that point the server first slows you down, then returns [429 Too Many Requests](https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6585) or shows the verification screen. **Fingerprint inconsistency.** The third is the information the request carries not adding up. If the IP points to Germany while the browser's time zone is Istanbul, its language setting is Turkish and its screen resolution is a server default, that trio is a contradiction on its own. **Automation traces.** The fourth is the traces that show the browser is running under automation: missing or inconsistent headers, a mouse cursor that never moves, a button clicked three milliseconds after the page opens, objects found only in automation tools. ## What a clean IP fixes and where it stops

Changing the proxy type really does lower how often the verification screen appears, but it does not take it to zero. The reason is that the four signals above are added up: a proxy affects only the first and, in part, the second. When you move from a data center IP to a real subscriber IP you fix the item that weighs the most, and on many sites you stay under the threshold. What remains beyond that is behaviour, and there a proxy can do nothing.

To put it concretely: a script firing two hundred requests a minute ends up in the same place no matter how clean the IP it picks. Changing the addresses in the pool every second does not help either, and can even hurt — a user arriving from five different provinces inside a single session is more suspicious than a heavy user arriving from one. The same goes for the fingerprint: a browser running behind a Türkiye IP with an English language setting and a New York time zone carries the contradiction with it, however real the IP is.

So the right order is this: first bring the speed and the pattern of the requests down to what the job actually needs, then make the browser settings consistent with the country the IP shows, and only at the end pick the proxy type. ## What do you do to avoid triggering CAPTCHA?

The goal is not to get past a protection but to avoid setting it off needlessly. All five steps below stay inside the site's own rules.

**Respect the rate limit.** Do not guess the speed a site can take, measure it: start the number of concurrent requests at one and raise it slowly, and when the first 429 arrives stay at the previous level. Most sites send a `Retry-After` header in the response; that header and the meanings of the related status codes are kept in [IANA's HTTP status code registry](https://www.iana.org/assignments/http-status-codes/http-status-codes.xhtml).

**Read the `robots.txt` file and apply it.** The format of the file and the interpretation of fields such as `Crawl-delay` were standardised with [RFC 9309](https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9309). **Use the official API if there is one.** Most search engines, marketplaces and social networks have an open interface for data. A request coming through an API does not see a verification screen, its quota is known, and it does not break when the page design changes. Scraping the page is left for the fields the API does not cover.

**Look at verified bot programmes.** If you need to introduce your own crawler to a site, apply to the site's own programme. Google's [Googlebot verification document](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/verifying-googlebot) explains how that verification is done; a similar path exists at many large sites, and permitted access is always steadier.

**Retry with exponential backoff.** Repeating a request that came back with a verification screen or a 429 right away pushes the threshold higher still. Double the waiting time on every attempt and add a little randomness on top:

If you still see the verification screen after applying these five steps, then it is time to change the proxy type. Reversing the order does nothing except make the problem more expensive.

## Common mistakes

- **Mistaking the verification screen for data.** If the script saves the returned HTML without checking it, an empty or wrong row is written into your table. Check on every request whether the field you expect is in the response.
- **Changing the IP on every request.** In flows that need a session, rotation breaks the job: if the address that logged in differs from the address adding to the cart, the site drops the session. Pick the sticky session to match the length of the job.
- **Pushing datacenter proxies into every job.** A data center IP is the cheapest solution on high-volume targets with few blocks; on sites that throw verification screens it is the most expensive, because the requests are wasted.
- **Scanning the whole country from a single province.** If you are collecting prices across Türkiye, sending the request out from one province both spoils the result and wears out the addresses in that province.
- **Not changing the fingerprint together with the IP.** If the IP shows Türkiye while the browser's language, time zone and location show another country, the contradiction score grows.
- **Looking at the promotional price and skipping the term of the traffic.** A plan with a low gigabyte price whose credit burns in 60 days is effectively far more expensive in a job that runs three days a month.
